This is an exciting opportunity for a proven Live at Home Elderly Manager to work with a national social care provider. Your new role
The Live at Home Scheme Manager is responsible for developing and managing the Live at Home Scheme to meet the needs of older people within the local community. The Scheme could operate across multiple sites within the geographical catchment area of Hull and the East Riding, but will predominately be based in West Hull.
This Scheme specifically looks at supporting older people in the community by offering accessible activities to support independence to individuals, ensuring that they have active and fulfilled lives. Examples of Live at Home services include; regular telephone support, advice and information on services and activities, signposting, quarterly newsletters, visits from a befriender, lunch clubs, outings, pamper days and friendship groups. The Scheme Manager will therefore be responsible for organising all activities and ensuring that they run successfully.
The Scheme Manager will also deal with all staff appointments to the scheme. Specifically, managing the recruitment and selection and on-going support and supervision of all Volunteers. The Manager will also have the responsibility of delivering staff inductions, 1:1 reviews and appraisals with all volunteers, assessing and supporting with training requirements. The Manager will also support the local committee with their functions of fundraising. What you'll need to succeed
This position requires the Scheme Manager to have a range of business and operational skills, but critically, who purpose is to drive the delivery of high quality services that reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness and promote the wellbeing of older people across a range of community settings.
Ideally the Scheme Manager will have a management qualification, alongside a social/ health care qualification. The new Scheme Manager will also has experience of; managing services for older people, staff management and working with volunteers.
You will also have an awareness of issues facing older people. You will be responsible for developing business plans, adhering to financial budgets and monitoring your performance amongst these in line with KPI's, therefore a good level of literacy and numeracy skills will be expected.
