Could you support children and young people with learning disabilities, helping to make a positive difference in their lives?

We have a vacancy for full-time (37.5 hours per week) and part time Support Workers (minimum 22.5 hpw / 3 shifts) at our children's home in Leighton Buzzard, where we support children and young people with learning disabilities and autism. There are 4/5 teenage children living in this house on the edge of town.

We are also looking for Relief Support Workers (£8.06 to £8.40 per hour) to help cover annual leave and sickness.

Let us know which role would suit you best on your application.

You will support children as they grow and learn, helping them develop new skills, and providing personal care and behavioural support as needed. These young people have complex needs and may show some challenging behaviour. Our specialist teams will support you to learn ways of helping them to manage this behaviour.

You don’t need experience as we offer extensive training and a great induction.

We're looking for people with initiative and warmth, who can thrive in a changing environment, are confident yet know when to ask for advice, and can work as part of a close-knit team. If this sounds like you, and you're willing to learn, you probably have exactly the qualities our young people need. We can teach you the rest.

Ideally you will have a full driving licence as you may be asked to drive service vehicles in order to take the children to school. If would also be beneficial if you had your own transport insured for business use.

You need to be able to work shifts including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins. The shifts patterns are: Early (7am - 2pm) and Late (2pm - 10pm)
