Our client is a leading housing association in Somerset and the West of England, building vibrant, stable and safe communities where people can make their homes. They provide services to over 23,000 people in 11,000 homes.

They are looking for a Part time Scheme Manager at their sheltered scheme in Clevedon.

This is a scheme with 20 one bed flats in a quiet residential part of Clevedon for people aged over 60 years.

The role of the Scheme Manager is to support residents to maintain their tenancies and enable them to stay independent for as long as possible.

Your main tasks will include:
Completing tenancy management plans with residents individually to identify needs and ensure appropriate guidance and advice is provided, communicating with outside agencies, signposting to appropriate services.
Providing a complete housing management service and ensuring all health and safety regulations are met.
Managing the voids and lettings process and working to reduce rental arrears.

Although this is a part time role, it is a challenging one. Sheltered Housing has and continues to change, with the client group ranging from frail elderly to the next generation of younger, older people with varied and sometimes challenging needs.
Whilst experience of working with older people is an advantage, what is most important is the ability to deal with a wide range of people with different needs; alcohol dependence, debt management and budgeting and benefit advice etc.

The role is also a demanding administration role; ending tenancies through to re-letting a new flat for example. A sound use of It skills is needed, with experience of business systems necessary for the role.

They are looking for someone with empathy to the needs of an older age group and the initiative and drive to provide a responsive and sensitive service to meet a wide range of needs.

Having excellent verbal and written and IT communication skills will therefore be essential in dealing with not only the residents but a wide range of external agencies.
If this describes you and you think you can make a difference, please apply.

A DBS is required.

Due to the nature of the role you must have a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle
