Acorn Recruitment is seeking an experienced part time Purchase Ledger candidate for their transport company based in Avonmouth, Bristol. The hours for this position would ideally be AM, Monday to Friday (but there is some flexibility for the right person). Salary is £9,500 pa.

Specific Job Duties and Responsibilities:

* To ensure that the Purchase Ledger is accurately maintained and process deadlines (payment dates) are met.
* To ensure suppliers and employee expenses are paid in accordance with agreed terms and conditions.
* To ensure good internal control with respect to the purchase ledger function. For example, purchase orders (PO's) are raised and signed
by the appropriate signatories, invoices signed by the appropriate signatories and correctly coded.
* To ensure all invoices and expense requests are correctly calculated, approved and coded. Ensure invoices are valid and expense claims comply with the expense policies
* Maintain adequate records of pro-forma invoices issued and chase up associated invoices
* Investigate and resolve purchase ledger queries as required.
* To reconcile supplier statements to supplier purchase ledger accounts.
* To prepare weekly payment batches through BACS for all due balances in accordance with supplier's terms and conditions.
* Ensure prompt filing of supplier invoices.
* Assist in the month end process as required to close the purchase ledger in a timely and accurate fashion

Person Profile and Skill Requirements:

* Excellent data entry skills - fast and accurate.
* Excellent working knowledge of financial systems and Microsoft packages. Standard * Excel knowledge is required for the role.
* Exceptionally high standards with meticulous attention to detail.
* Highly organised and a 'completer - finisher'.
* A flexible team player with the ability to work pro-actively.
* Excellent communication skills, (both verbal and written).
* A self-starter with a positive, enthusiastic 'can do' attitude and a down to earth approachable manner.
* A problem solver with the ability to assume responsibility and act on own initiative.
* Customer focused (both external and internal).
* Ability to work accurately in a busy, demanding environment, whilst adhering to stringent deadlines.
* Ability to work in a structured, repetitive role requiring high levels of concentration.
