This is a part time, permanent position.

Our client, an education facility is currently recruiting for an experienced Part Time Bursar/Accounts Assistant to be responsible for the management of the finances under the direction of management. The individual must be confident when communicating with people of all ages and carry the skills to be able the pick up on any financial discrepancies.

Duties of the role will include:
• Preparation and presentation of the budget and manage throughout the year
• Monthly reconciliation of their financial position with transaction and summary reports, identifying and correcting errors and discrepancies
• Completion of all financial tasks from the receipt and recording of all cash received for the budget and private fund accounts, banking, payment of invoices, preparing cheques, reconciling bank accounts, termly three-way reconciliation with records and preparation of monthly VAT return
• Ensure prompt assessment and payment of insurance premiums and administer claims as necessary
• Prepare regular claims for reimbursement of purchases
• Liaise with the Committee, regarding purchase of goods, payment of invoices and for services shared with/provided for the premises
• Ensure all financial records are maintained accurately and in accordance with financial requirements and regulations
• Administer and maintain an Equipment Register of all goods over £50
• Assist with County Audits
• Arrange for certification by a qualified independent accountant of funds annually
• Maintain compliance with SFVS requirements
• Preparing monthly payroll information for Payroll provider to meet strict deadlines,
• Advise on pay ranges, job descriptions, budget implications of new appointments

Special Requirements:
• Demonstrable numeracy and literacy skills
• Extensive experience in financial/administrative management role
• Degree or NVQ Level 4 or equivalent qualification
• Manage the administrative and financial system
• Manage, lead, organise, deploy and motivate a multidisciplinary staff team
• Manage facilities and contracts
• Relate well to people of all ages and demonstrate the ability to communicate well both verbally and in written form
• Manage a variety of competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Use and manage IT systems and resources effectively
• Can adapt to a variety of situations
• Persuasive and influential as a negotiator
• Maintains confidentiality
• Proactive
