Our client is seeking an experienced Part Time Bookkeeper to join their team, your role will be to maintain the financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments.

You will be working closely with their parent company accounting team to create and analyse financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices and tax payments.

You will:

* Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process
* Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger and general ledger
* Bring the books to the trial balance stage - monthly
* Perform checks of the posting process
* Complete VAT returns - quarterly
* Enter data, maintain records and financial statements - monthly
* Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner
* Fully operate and manage the monthly payroll for 13 employees

You will have:

* Proven bookkeeping experience
* Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable/receivable principles
* Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
* Data entry skills along with an eye for numbers
* Proficiency in English and in MS Office - especially Excel and Word
* High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
* The Ideal candidate will be AAT qualified (level 3, or very experienced level 2) and/or BSc degree qualified in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.
* Experienced in completing VAT and PAYE reporting to HMRC.

This is a part time role based in Christchurch.
