£24,174 (pro-rata) scale point 27 (NJC pay scales) with yearly cost of living increase (if applicable)

With a base in Nottingham City Centre (NG1) the Children and Young Person's Therapeutic Support Workers will work across Nottingham City.

**Hours of Work**

22.5 hours per week, worked over 3 days. Two vacancies available (job shares will be considered)

**Introduction**

Employed by Notts SVS Services, working in partnership with Nottingham University Hospitals Trust, this is an exciting opportunity to provide therapeutic support to children and young people who have accessed services at the Nottinghamshire Hub of the East Midlands Paediatric SARC.

**Job Purpose**

We are looking for experienced Children and Young Person's Therapeutic Support Workers to provide sensitive, client-centred, non-judgmental support to survivors, aged 13-17 years, of rape, sexual assault and childhood sexual abuse.

**Responsibilities**

* To be responsible for the triaging of children and young people, aged 13-17 years, that have been referred for support coordinating the referral process from initial contact through to referrals to the appropriate agency, including safeguarding where appropriate.
* To provide a holistic needs assessment, initial and on-going support to the client and their families and carers implementing the appropriate processes to ensure that the clients' holistic needs are met including referrals to appropriate local services.
* To provide up to 10 short term support sessions.
* To provide expert information and advocacy support for clients referred by the SARC who have been affected by sexual violence.

**Essential experience, qualifications and skills**

* A degree in counselling/social work or evidence of extensive professional experience working with children in a supporting capacity
* In-depth knowledge of issues experienced by children and young people, particularly in relation to rape and sexual assault
* Experience of devising and coordinating support plans
* Experience of carrying out holistic risk and needs assessments and making safeguarding referrals
* Experience of organising and prioritising a complex workload, working to tight deadlines and being self-servicing in administrative duties
* Experience of working in a multi-agency setting and partnerships working with a wide range of statutory and voluntary agencies

Successful applicants will be required to work and travel across Nottingham City on a daily basis.

Successful candidates must be available to work Monday 26th March - Thursday 29th March 2018, 9am-5pm, for training and induction. Normal shift patterns will start from 1st April, 2018.
