About the job

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dynamic press officer with the skills to place our landmark research where it belongs - at the top of the daily news agenda.

As Britain’s leading independent centre for social research, the National Centre for Social Research is driven by the belief that our work has the power to make life better.

Our study of public attitudes and values, British Social Attitudes, has been published annually for more than thirty years.

We produce some of the most exciting, challenging and rigorous research out there which covers all areas of social policy.  It is used by policy makers, practitioners, academics, the media and the public to increase understanding and drive change.

You will come armed with your own ideas about how, when and where we can make ourselves heard, and have the confidence and self- assurance to navigate long term projects already underway with Britain’s top broadcasters and government press offices.

You are able to manage our relationships with high profile journalists and bring your own network of fresh contacts to further our reach. You have a proven track record of working with a range of stakeholders and can plan and evaluate your own work- and learn from it.

You have significant experience of working in a busy press office or similar environment and the vision and passion to turn our research analysis and data into profile raising opportunities. There will be line management opportunities for the right candidate.
