If you have a proven track record of delivering community development and engagement activities, this is an incredible opportunity to make a positive, lasting impact with a forward-thinking charity.

Our client is an innovative not-for-profit organisation that helps to make life better for older people in the UK. They are now looking for a part time Community Engagement & Development Worker to join them on a contract until the 30th June 2019.

In this exciting role, you will have the chance to help our client grow their services, increase their volunteering numbers and enable older people to engage with their local communities.

As a Community Engagement & Development Worker, you will help to grow and deliver our client’s community services throughout Chatham, Tonbridge and the surrounding area.

Supporting our client’s Growth in Social Action strategy, you will establish new volunteer-led groups to deliver services that support older people and enable them to get involved with their community.

Specifically, you will:

- Inspire your local communities to take action to support older people
- Help to plan and deliver a community engagement programme and initiatives
- Recruit, train, support and enable Volunteer Leaders to succeed
- Act as a link between local leaders to share best practice
- Maintain strong communications with Volunteer Leaders and Co-ordinators

Interested? To be considered, you will need:

- Experience of delivering community development and engagement activities
- The proven ability to work successfully with volunteers
- Project management skills, gained in a fast-paced development setting
- A full, valid driving licence

Proactive and enthusiastic, as a Community Engagement & Development Worker, you’ll have excellent communication skills. You’ll also be able to motivate and inspire others, as well as effectively prioritise your workload.

Please note, this is a part time role, working 30 hours per week. Flexibility is required.

The closing date for applications is the 25th February 2018, with interviews scheduled to be held on the 5th March 2018. Candidates who are invited to interview will be asked to prepare a presentation on how they will develop 12 new groups for the charity within the next 12 months.
