Support Workers - Supporting Young People
Ivybridge, Devon

Are you positive, caring and compassionate? Want to make a life-changing career move where you can make a genuine difference to the lives of others? If so, we would love to hear from you.

Who will I be working for?

We are the Dame Hannah Rogers Trust, a charity that has been enriching the lives of children and adults with disabilities for 250 years.

Our vision is to live in a society where people with disabilities experience the same opportunities to work, train, learn and live. We imagine a society that advocates recognition and encourages everyone to fulfil their true potential without judgment or limit: a society where disability is incidental.

Now, we’re looking for a number of Support Workers to join us on a full and part time basis. We have various hours available, including day and night shifts.

What are the benefits?

- Salary from £8.32 per hour
- Auto enrolment pension
- Free employee assistance programme
- Free car parking/car share scheme
- Excellent progression opportunities
- 30 days’ holiday including bank holidays (pro rata for part time)

We understand that starting any new role can be daunting, which is why we provide our staff with full induction training, as well as ongoing training and development, to help you realise your full potential.

We offer supervision, appraisals and opportunities to discuss and receive feedback throughout the year, and we are continually looking for ways to improve how things are done.

This is an amazing opportunity to join a talented team who are passionate about what they do and take on an exciting role where you can make a real impact.

What will I be getting up to?

As a Support Worker, you’ll help young people to live their lives to the fullest.

You’ll help individuals to take part in a variety of sensory, social and educational activities. These will include music, art and crafts, festivals, sailing, football matches, trips to the cinema, bowling and classroom support just to name a few, so you’ll never be sat twiddling your thumbs.

What do I need to join the team?

While it would be great if you had previous care experience, you don’t necessarily need experience to join us. We believe that if you have the right personal qualities, our training programme will equip you with the skills you need to become a successful Support Worker.

We are looking for individuals with the following:

- A passion for helping people to achieve their goals and aspirations
- Great communication skills
- A positive, caring and compassionate approach
- The desire to learn

We’re eager to hear from you if you have experience as, or would like to become a, Support Worker, Young People Support Worker, Social Worker, Care Worker, Care Assistant, Trainee Support Worker or Junior Care Worker.

Webrecruit and the Dame Hannah Rogers Trust are equal opportunities employers, value diversity and are strongly committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all employees and all applicants for employment. Equal opportunities are the only acceptable way to conduct business and we believe that the more inclusive our environments are, the better our work will be.
