LOCATION: Petworth commutable from Chichester

JOB TITLE: Senior Care Assistant

SALARY & BENEFITS: £8.60 per hour weekdays & £10.10 per hour weekends

WORKING HOURS: Full Time – hours vary from 8am-2pm / 2pm-8pm / 8am-8pm on a rota

THE COMPANY: We are currently working with a Luxury residential family run care home based in Petworth commutable from Chichester. The home is owned and run by a family with over 20 years of experience caring for the elderly. They pride themselves on their reputation for providing residents with the highest level of care possible.

THE ROLE: As a Senior Care Assistant you will join together with all members of the team in order to provide the individual care required by each resident, making sure they retain as much of their dignity and individuality as possible. You will provide a happy and caring atmosphere and be involved in the general activities in the home.

Key Responsibilities for the Senior Care Assistant role to include:-

To assist with the general day to day care of the residents and ensure that the Care
Assistants are working efficiently
Receiving daily instruction from the Manager/Deputy regarding specific tasks for the day
Administering and signing for medication in accordance with the MAR sheets
Assisting residents with dressing/undressing, bathing and personal hygiene
Cleaning and sterilising any equipment and surfaces as necessary
Assisting with general cleaning and tidying duties such as bed making, restocking cupboards etc
Charting any necessary information in appropriate records i.e. fluid charts, and daily notes in the care plans
When in charge, answering the telephone and taking messages, noting any problems or
changes in the report book to maintain good channels of communication
Delegating daily tasks and making sure half hourly head counts are done
Read and write reports. Take part in staff and residents meetings and attending all training

THE CANDIDATE: For the role of Senior Care Assistant you will be a reliable and flexible team player. You will be friendly, kind, honest, reassuring and an effective communicator.

Key experience essential for the role of the Senior Care Assistant:-

Have experience working within Care (ideally in a Senior position)
Have an NVQ Level 3 in Care
Have experience dispensing medication
Live within a commutable distance to Petworth Near Chichester
