Are you positive and creative? Could you support people with learning disabilities, helping them live life on their own terms?

We have vacancies supporting adults for full-time and part-time Support Workers in our service in Tiptree, Essex.

About the role

You will play a key part in assisting the people we support to live as independently as possible. You will join in with their favourite pastimes and hobbies, helping them be active members of their local community. Activities might include swimming, walking, listening to music, going to the cinema and theatre, going to church, shopping or out for meals.

Because of the complexity of their learning disabilities, some people require help with intimate care or medication. They can display challenging behaviour and require emotional reassurance and support.

The work can be demanding and doesn't suit everyone, but if it's right for you, you'll find it incredibly rewarding and valuable. We will provide you with full training and with day-to-day help and advice from your Head of Service.

You'll take your turn working shifts on a rota, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.

Please state on your application which of the positions you are most interested in and if part time, how many hours you are looking to work and we will see if the service rota can accommodate this.

What we need from you

Experience is not necessary, as we provide a full induction and free training programme, so this role is suitable for a trainee. People join us from many different backgrounds, it's more important to us that you have a positive approach and are willing to learn.

Although you don't need a driving licence to work at this service, please be aware that it is in a rural location not well served by public transport.
