Are you thinking of trying a new kind of work? Supporting someone to make the most of their potential is one of the most rewarding things you can do.
At Scope our mission is to drive social change so that disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else. We want to achieve everyday equality and support disabled people to get the best start in life, live the life they choose and be financially secure.
We are looking for people who want to work in an environment where job satisfaction is a must and who want to strive towards making a difference in people’s life.
About the role
Join the team as a Support Worker at our services in Histon and Orchard Park (Arbury) in Cambridge and you’ll not only enjoy work that’s unusually varied and fulfilling, you’ll also have the chance to gain valuable skills and qualifications.
Imagine how it feels to help someone go on holiday for the first time or go to the pub for a night out. That’s just the sort of rewarding experience that could be part of your everyday work at Mill Lane and Orchard Park services.
Respectful, resourceful and reliable with an ability to adapt your approach, you’ll be committed to supporting disabled people to live fulfilling lives, assisting them with their social and household activities, and with any medication and personal care requirements. You’ll need clear communication skills, both written and verbal and a flexible approach to your work.
You'll work as part of a team to deliver high quality personalised services, providing personal care, social and emotional support to ensure a high-quality person centered service.
This work will include travel between locations, and working a rota to provide a service that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
We value flexibility in our staff and expect you'll be available to work shifts that may include early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays and a number of sleep-ins per month.
All Support Workers posts are subject to satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.
