Finance Officer - Rent
Finance Officer - Rent - St Albans £22-25k depending on experience and/or qualifications.
Hours of work - Full-time 35 hours - 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Fixed Term role covering Maternity leave from a minimum of 10 months up to 12 Months.
The Abbeyfield Society based in our head office in St Albans is now looking to recruit a full time Finance Officer - Rents who has experience of working within a not for profit/voluntary housing organisation.
Working as a valued member of the team your role will be to support and work alongside the Divisional Finance Manager.
You will need to develop good working relationships with colleagues within other divisions.
Good experience of the QL Housing and QL Finance modules or equivalent as well as excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word, hold the AAT Technician Qualification or be studying towards this or equivalent is required.
Good experience of working within the social housing sector, particularly with rent setting and housing benefit calculation, you will need to be able to work to strict deadlines and have excellent report writing skills along with good communication and IT skills. Experience with completing quarterly rent statements and letters accurately and in a timely way. Other duties include reconciling the rent ledger balance to the nominal ledger accounts, liaising with Local Authorities and ensuring housing benefit is paid correctly. Completion of financial and other returns and Issuing rent packs to managers. This position is a very varied and interesting role where you will be given training and good support.
We are looking for a cheerful, experienced, motivated, methodical and organised person to join our busy finance team with the ability to prioritise an ever changing workload. Ability to work well under pressure and challenging circumstances is also required. As part of the Abbeyfield finance team you may also be required to visit other Abbeyfield locations.
