Chief Scientific Adviser for Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture
The Scottish Government is seeking an outstanding scientist for the role of Chief Scientific Adviser, Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture.
This senior civil service position is central to the Scottish Government’s work on the environment, agriculture and the wider rural economy, from climate change to food security, from land use to animal health. It offers a unique opportunity to help shape critical decisions in these high-profile areas.
The successful candidate will have relevant disciplinary expertise and a scientific reputation on the Scottish, UK, EU and international stages. (S)he will bring proven leadership ability and excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of partners and stakeholders.
The appointment is for 3 years on a part-time basis (3 days per week) with the possibility of extension, either as a fixed term position or as a secondment.
