Elevation Recruitment Group Business Support are working with a highly established client, who are well known within their industry. This client is extremely reputable and is a dynamic UK company, providing advanced products into specialised industries. Due to an internal restructure they are now looking to appoint a Part Time Shipping Administrator.

Reporting directly to the department team leader, the successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and play a pivotal role in providing a high level of service support to both customers and other departments. This candidate will be responsible for the shipping process for Global and UK shipments.

To be successful in this role you will need to be an adaptable and diverse individual, approachable, proactive and able to maintain the high level of customer service throughout as well as having a firm understanding of Import & Export legislation

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Support the management of products being imported and exported into the business
- Communicate with customers, agents and all third parties
- Work towards targets to maximise them in line to meet the company budget
- Liaise across all departments to provide maximum efficiency
- Ensure all items are ready for shipment, with the accurate customer details
- Responsible for all shipments
- Ensure all invoices are processed through the system as goods are shipped
- Preparing all documentation required for the shipments
- Ensure all imports are cleared correctly
- Manage and ensure all imported goods are re-exported in the available timeframe
- Ensure export clearance instructions are given to freight forwarders
- Responsible for intrastats and ensuring returns are in line with HMRC guidelines
- Provide quality administration on late deliveries
- Assist credit control with payments queries
- Supporting the Project Co-Ordinator with contract work
- Attend weekly with Procurement & Sales, checking shipments are on track

Key Skills Required:

- Ideally 3 years shipping experience
- Knowledge of customs regimes
- Able to display a high level of integrity at all times
- Strong and effective communication skills
- Good knowledge of importing goods under processes
- Experience of working with letters of credit
- Understanding of tariff classification
- Understand the importance of country of origin declarations
- Proven experience in preparing ATR’s and certificates of origin
- Strong knowledge of ATA carnets for temporary shipment of exhibition equipment
- Knowledge of Export License applications is desirable
