JOB TITLE: Part Time Consultancy Projects Manager

JOB TYPE: 9 Month Fixed Term Contract (until November 2018)

COMPANY TYPE: Membership Organisation

HOURS: PT – 30 hours / week - 09:00am – 17:00pm Four days / week

SALARY: £35,000 pro rata

LOCATION: Chancery Lane

Whilst the post is covering maternity leave, they are merging with a larger agency where the possibility for extension and moving to other roles in the business is very high.

The Consultancy Project Manager will support the operations of the consultancy activities, including in house development programmes, membership days and strategic consultancy projects.

Job Summary | Consultancy Projects Manager


* Coordinating the process of planning a range of programmes in the UK for a range of different clients including universities and government organisations
* Attend project planning meetings with the lead associate and clients
* Develop and monitor project budgets and arrange for invoices to be raised and sent to clients
* Build and maintain effective relationships with lead associates and clients
* Liaise with associates and programme speaker to agree fees
* Assist lead associate with the production of programme materials
* Respond to enquiries about potential programmes and carry out initial needs analysis
* Maintain contents for the Consultancy webpages including collect/monitor/produce case studies
* Coordinating responses to competitive tenders and contributing to writing bid / proposal documentation
* Field enquiries to undertake light touch needs analysis conversation with clients to identify appropriate in-house programme to meet their need
* Manage the evaluation process for programmes and projects
* Manage the Membership Consultancy ‘free day’ process
* Produce programme and project numbers reports for ADMs and internal staff
* Support strategic consultancy and coaching projects as above
* Update and maintain webpages related to Consultancy programmes
* Respond to enquiries about possible consultancy projects, providing information and advice to actual/potential clients
* Act as client relationship manager for a range of consultancy projects and programmes
* Maintain regular contact with the Associates in relation to specific consultancy projects and programmes.
* Contribute to general information and briefing and support of the Associates

Internal Administration

* Maintain accurate records of projects, including income, costs, participant numbers, participant days, and evaluation results
* Manage project and programme records and documentation
* Build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues in other teams, external colleagues and suppliers.
* Provide information and reports for internal meetings.
* Take minutes of Consultancy and other internal meetings as required and assist in drafting agendas, where appropriate
* Participate in cross departmental project teams and initiatives as required
* Maintain excellent working relationships with the teams across the organisation, providing support and assistance as required

*clients are almost always Universities, Education Ministries or related institutions in Higher Education. either in the UK or internationally



* Degree level qualification (or equivalent) and/or substantial experience in a role at equivalent level
* Experience working in a training & development environment
* Experience of managing projects, and administration/support of a business activity
* Strong IT skills including demonstrably excellent skills in Word, Outlook web editing and Excel
* Demonstrably excellent Excel skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including bid writing skills)
* Inter-personal skills of a high order
* Excellent organisational skills with a capacity for attention to detail
* Ability to arrange event logistics and supervise such delivery through teams
* Experience of communicating with clients and dealing with stressful and time critical situations
* Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise work to meet deadlines
* Flexibility and the ability to respond constructively to problems and unaccustomed situations


* Evidence of professional development and/or study for relevant professional qualifications e.g. a CIPD Level 3 qualification or equivalent
* Knowledge of Higher Education
* Experience of working in a membership organisation
