SEN Learning Mentor - Graduate role, Nottingham

Have you recently graduated with a Psychology or similarly related degree and are currently looking for a role where you will gain excellent experience to support your future career ambitions of either becoming a teacher or Educational Psychologist?

Do you strive to support young people who have special educational needs and face barriers to their learning within school?

The experience gained as a SEN Learning Mentor will enable you to work closely with the school SENCO to gain invaluable experience which will enhance your chances of being successful on a teacher training or educational psychology course in 2019.

*SEN Learning Mentor

*Ideal opportunity for a Psychology graduate

*Paid up to £300 per week

*Central Nottingham & surrounding areas

*Range of Secondary & Primary schools

*Long-term, full-time role

*1:1 & small group support

*Interviewing ASAP

As a SEN Learning Mentor you will have the opportunity to expand upon your theoretical knowledge which you have gained throughout your degree. Ideally you should have some experience previously working within special educational needs, whether in a voluntary capacity or part-time work during your studies. This role is well suited for a graduate who has gained a 2.1 or 1st from a top university - you should also be looking to gain experience to help you in your career journey, enabling you to be a success when you train to either teach or become an educational psychologist.

At i-teachers we work with primary and secondary schools across Nottingham and trial days/interviews are being arranged on a rolling basis. In a SEN Learning mentor role you will be working both as a 1:1 support worker for a child who has special educational needs, as well as supporting small groups to grasp key learning concepts and help them with over-learning topics which have previously been discussed in the classroom with the teacher.

You must have a degree and strong academic results as this role will require a high level of knowledge and understanding of numeracy and literacy.
