LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT – COLLEGE HOUSE
This post is a Term Time post, and as such you will only work 38 weeks a year (school year) there is no requirement to work school holidays, weekends or bank holidays.
The post is for 30 hours per week between Monday and Thursday.

As the Learning Support Assistant you will be working at our unique educational residential facility, College House. College House is located at Compton, 6 miles from Eastleigh College towards Winchester and accommodates 14 residents who are students on the College’s Skills for Independence and Work course.
This Outstanding provision offers educational and emotional support to young people aged 16 to 18 with moderate learning difficulties.
College House focuses on teaching learners independent living skills, including money management, learning to use public transport, cooking, laundry, shopping and socialisation skills. You will also be required to support learners in a variety of social situations such as going to the cinema and theatre, bowling and eating out.
You will be a Key Worker supporting a group of up to seven learners. The role involves you working on a one to one and group basis supporting learners with their individual learning programmes and working closely with parents and other agencies.
You will possess GCSEs in English and mathematics A*-C or equivalent Level 2 Qualification and be proficient in using IT systems. You will be flexible, proactive, resilient, and able to adapt approaches and interaction when needed and promote self-esteem and independence.
