We currently have a permanent, full time opportunity for a Wellbeing and Career Progression Manager. In this role you will provide effective and responsive support for students through the Wellbeing Team to include the line management of the Counsellor, Nurse, Careers Advisor, Work Experience Placement Team Leader, Welfare Advisor and Chaplain. Manage and monitor the college Careers Strategy in line with the national careers strategy including work experience and work placement. Coordinate the resources and expertise within the team to help ensure the College enhances the student experience and supports students to achieve their potential throughout their studies.The working hours will usually be 8.30 am to 5.00 pm from Monday to Thursday and 8.30 am to 4.30 pm on Friday. However, the working hours will vary on occasions dependent on the needs of the College.

The successful candidate will have a good level of education to a minimum of level 2 in English and Maths, along with a relevant qualification at a minimum of level 4. The successful candidate should have experience of working successfully with young people from diverse backgrounds within an educational setting, the ability to manage teams and individuals, knowledge and understanding of current developments in career education including work experience and work placement and experience of supporting career and work experience planning. Desirable experience and knowledge include an understanding of current developments in Wellbeing and Support Services, knowledge of child protection legislation and requirements, learner voice and enrichment initiative and event planning.You will be a motivated, self-starter with the highest level of commitment and passion to deliver excellence. Exceptional communication skills both verbally and written are essential; the ability to write reports, to articulate arguments, talk to groups, chair meetings and be empathetic and respectful. Awareness and respect for colleagues, young adults and children’s cultural, religious and emotional needs and beliefs. High level of organisational and planning skills coupled with the ability to work independently, to recognise the importance of professional boundaries, and the need for confidentiality.
