Grade 4 £24,070 - £27,771 Pro rata
30 hours per week (Mon-Fri 9am – 3pm) 52 weeks of the year.
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a qualified Careers Adviser to join a small dynamic Careers & Employability team at Havant & South Downs College across both our campuses.
The purpose of this role is to provide impartial, confidential and high quality IAG to all members of the College community and prospective learners, using drop-ins, pre-booked 1:1 interventions, group settings, planned events, telephone calls and emails.
We are looking to appoint a highly motivated individual who enjoys working with young people, that is a self-starter and one that can offer innovation to inspire young people to achieve their full potential. You will need to be vibrant, enthusiastic and dedicated to helping young people to explore opportunities and make decisions regarding education; employment; apprenticeship and training; progression routes and choices.
As part of this role it is important that the post holder is well organised, capable of working under pressure, able to meet deadlines, manage caseloads and their own time. You must also be able to work independently to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the careers & employability services.
You will preferably have previous experience and knowledge of working in FE and be particularly familiar with both A Level and Vocational pathways.
Successful applicants should be able to relate to young people from diverse backgrounds and levels of ability, on an individual or group basis.
The successful candidate should hold a relevant Level 6 qualification in Career Guidance and Development, the Qualification in Careers Guidance (QCG) or equivalent.
