Are you looking for a fresh start and rewarding work?

Could you put your skills to work supporting people who have learning disabilities?

No experience needed.

MacIntyre is a award winning national charity supporting people with learning disabilities. Our core belief is that everyone has potential, something to offer and a valuable contribution to make to their community.

Last year we have opened a brand new supported living service in Emsworth and we currently have a vacancy for a full-time Support Worker (38 hours per week).

At this large service, we provide 24 x 7 support for 17 adults (aged between 17 and 60) with learning disabilities or autism. We work with people to ensure they live their best possible lives, developing appropriate life skills as well as enjoying a wide variety of pastimes and hobbies which could include supporting people to attend day services, going to the theatre, cinema, shopping, horse riding, walks and voluntary work. This is a great opportunity to get involved at the start, and really make a lasting difference to people's lives.

There may be behaviours of concern due to not being able to communicate needs and minimal personal care. Some of the people we support need verbal prompts or someone with them while attending personal care to ensure they are safe.

You'll take your turn working shifts on a rota, including days, evenings, nights, some weekends, bank holidays and occasional night cover. The shifts are for 7.5 hours, working 5 days a week.

What we need from you

We welcome practitioners who have a background as Care Assistants, Teaching Assistants etc. But experience is not necessary, as we provide a full induction and free training programme, so these vacancies are suitable for trainees.
