Our Care Assistants are the primary carers for our residents. They become part of the care home family, responsible for ensuring our residents are well cared-for and enabling them to live full and enriched lives. The Oakdale Candidate

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about the care they provide to join our team. All levels of experience are welcome to apply as we offer full induction training and support our carers to progress through their NVQs all the way to the highest levels of care.

We require:

·Numeracy and literacy skills

·Personable and professional communication skills

·Ability to work well in a team

·Reliability and punctuality

·Willingness to develop new skills

·Familiarity with iPhone/iPods will be an advantage

·An NVQ qualification is desirable but not essential

Role Responsibilities

Being a Care Assistant means your core focus is ensuring residents are well cared-for socially, emotionally and physically at all times. Depending on your residents and their needs, it is a varied and rewarding role. Your core responsibilities would include:

·Assisting residents with their intimate and personal care needs, according to their individual care plan whilst protecting privacy and dignity at all times.

·Making sure residents are well-presented to the standards of personal appearance he or she holds for themselves.

·Ensuring our residents feel well cared for by developing caring relationships, understanding their likes and dislikes and getting to know them as individuals.

·Taking part in events and activities within and outside of the home, creating positive memories and experiences for our residents.

·Reporting and recording any changes in a resident’s behaviour, condition or needs and escalating to senior staff where appropriate to ensure we offer the best care possible for each resident.

·Maintaining a clean and happy environment for residents by making beds and (with their permission) tidying bedrooms and assisting with the cleaning of the Home when necessary.

·Working well as part of a dynamic team to ensure that each aspect of a resident’s care needs is met, enabling their personal choice to be reflected throughout their care journey.
