Are you experienced in supporting older people with complex care needs?

Are you an organised, methodical Nurse who is passionate about delivering positive change?

Then you can build a fast-moving nursing career with Care UK and help our residents get more out of life every day.

What you’ll do

Leading the nurse & care team during your shifts, you will make certain that we fully meet residents’ medical, physical and emotional requirements. Ensuring compliance with our clinical governance framework, you will mentor and motivate colleagues, champion residents’ safety and dignity and drive continuous improvement, whilst acting as Named Nurse for your own portfolio of service users.

Where you’ll work

Winchcombe Place has 80 bedrooms, all ensuite, and all with subtly different outlooks and colour schemes, so there’s a room to suit every taste. Some of the rooms are close to the coffee shop, hair salon and cinema, so are perfect for people who like to be in the heart of things. Some of the downstairs rooms offer direct access to our gardens and courtyards, suiting keen gardeners. Every room has its own flat-screen TV, phone and internet connections, adjustable profile bed and 24-hour nurse call system.

At Winchcombe Place care home each floor has its own dining room and lounge. This helps to create a more close-knit atmosphere – a sort of ‘home within a home’. This layout particularly suits residents living with dementia who prefer peace and quiet and familiar faces, but is actually popular with everyone for its intimate community feel.

Winchcombe Place is set in a great location close to the A4, A34 and M4 as well as Newbury station, so we’re easily accessible for friends and loved ones visiting from around the south and south east of England. The care home has ample parking for visitors, who are welcome any time of the day or night. We even have a room for residents’ families to have some quiet time or to spend the night in if they live some distance away or want to be close to their loved one overnight.

Who you are

An NMC Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD), you will be well versed in care planning processes and fully familiar with clinical assessment tools.
You will be keen to develop your leadership skills and clinical knowledge, capable of building close relationships with residents and their families, and determined to drive continuous improvement.
