St Barnabas Hospices offers specialist palliative care through two hospices: St Barnabas House adult hospice in Worthing and Chestnut Tree House, the children’s hospice in Sussex. Our shops and Distribution Centre provide one of our most important revenue streams and offer quality items and a friendly service.

At a time of continued expansion we currently have the following vacancy:

Retail Manager – Ferring

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (5 days out of 7, Monday-Sunday, inc Bank Holidays)

Salary £17,730 p.a. + performance related bonuses

Are you a highly organised, sales focused manager who would love to lead our team in one of St Barnabas’s busiest Charity Shops in Ferring? If so, we are looking for an independently minded, successful manager who is passionate about customer service to join our team.

Responsibilities include:

Delivering excellent customer service; managing a team of staff and volunteers; stock control; visual merchandising; liaison with the Distribution Centre for stock and furniture; using the EPOS system; daily cash handling and banking; ensuring the staff, volunteers, the shop and the site are safe and secure.

Experience in retail, sales or a similar fast-moving customer orientated environment is an advantage. Experience of working in a charity shop or knowledge of furniture sales is also highly desirable.
