We are searching for Business Analysts who can understand and analyse user and business needs, ensuring outcomes are aligned with service vision and business strategy.

We cover some of the most high-profile policies in Whitehall, issues such as anti-social behaviour, crime prevention, tackling drug use, immigration, policing and terrorism. All are at the heart of the Government's agenda and we work closely and cooperatively with a wide range of other departments.

This is your opportunity to contribute to these objectives and challenges. You would contribute to the link between current and future business models, delivering to the business architecture. You will constructively challenge and act as a critical friend to achieve communication with all stakeholders to support design, build and deliver to meet user needs. 

Business Analyst roles at SEO level you would be responsible for driving the research and gathering business requirements, using process modelling, Gap analysis and Impact analysis to assist in project delivery. You will need to ensure that the delivery of change is made against a fully auditable process by producing/assisting with frameworks, applications of methodologies, operating models, functional specification, user cases, user stories, UAT plans and strategy, entry/exit and no/no go criteria, defect analysis, forms and templates, guidance and business cases.

We'll assess you against these competencies during the selection process:

  • Requirements management 

    Please give an example of when you have taken responsibility for eliciting, analysing and managing business and/or user requirements, under either waterfall methodology or agile delivery frameworks with a range of business stakeholders. Explain in your response how you ensured requirements were clearly defined, prioritised and aligned to business objectives. 


  • Business Analysis 

    Please give an example of when you have taken responsibility for investigating a complex business problem or opportunity and describe the tools, techniques and methods you applied in your approach. Explain in your response how you analysed information to create options and recommendations for improved services or business solutions.
